Teri is interested in nature as well as portraying luminous images. Her latest abstract painting is inspired by photos from outer space taken by Hubble. These pieces are on canvas and have a thick texture and rich surface with metallic mixed media.Teri has studied at Art Center College of Design, Atlanta College of Art, and California State University at Northridge. She worked as a scenic artist for several different television networks before going back to school to get a masters in art education. Starkweather has taught painting in her studio, as well as in schools, and is currently painting full time, working on her artwork. Teri has shown her artwork in various galleries throughout the United States and also internationally in Italy and China. Teri has exhibited at the Oceanside Museum, Springfield Art Museum, Westmont Museum of Art, Lancaster Museum of Art, Riverside Art Museum, Downey Museum of Art, and Brea Gallery, California. In 2011 she had a solo show at James Gray Gallery in Bergamot Station, Santa Monica, California.
