Dena Young is a fine art photographer born and raised in Southern California near the beach. She fell in love with the ocean at a young age and often attempted to draw and paint it. Never coming close to what she envisioned, she eventually picked up a camera and decided to translate her concepts in a different way.
Oddly, it took move away from the ocean to the Pacific Northwest that brought about her love of abstract water photography. It was there that she found her love of reflection and motion in the constantly changing ripples of the water. Her greatest day as a photographer was when she was asked if one of her photographs was a photograph or if it was actually a painting.
Recently, Dena returned back to Southern California and is now lucky enough to be back by the ocean spending most of her time by the water.
If Dena isn't out taking pictures, you will find her with her husband, two kids and her dogs.
